Part landscape architecture, part water park and part themed environment, the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya is an "active" landscape – a distinctive environment that sets it apart from the many other competing beach hotels.
Visitors to the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya aren't just hotel guests. They are participants in a romantic jungle story about an ancient tribe that revered and celebrated nature. Upon entering the hotel grounds, guests become participants in the re-imagining of this lost jungle paradise of water, tropical plants and adventure.
Forrec was originally commissioned to design a tropical garden for the new hotel, but concluded early on that there was an opportunity to differentiate the resort by creating a complete, immersive experience that would include the entire hotel property. The underlying narrative unites all elements within the hotel grounds, from the entry gate to the beachfront: landscape, recreation areas, graphics – even furniture, restaurant menus, room keys and activity programming.
To accomplish the seamless execution of the themed environment, Forrec applied the skills of its in-house architects, landscape architects, interior designers, theme designers, graphic designers and writers. No detail was left unconsidered. The jungle Water Garden — the most elaborate portion of the design — required many models, sketches and scaled drawings to work out the complicated three-dimensional sequences of spaces.
The Water Garden is the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya’s main feature. It is a jungle sanctuary of tropical plants, rushing and splashing water, pathways and special elements, which include: a Ceremonial Platform, where a torch-lighting ceremony takes place every evening; shallow waterfalls and pools interconnected by body slides, a meandering lazy river tube ride; a children's play area; and a lap pool, which also serves as a venue for water sports.
Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya is at the forefront of a new generation of resorts that satisfy an increasing demand for better more immersive experiences.
