San Atilano´s church is a Baroque church in Tarazona. The town council decided to restore it and convert it into a multi-purpose cultural space. The basic concepts of the project, obtained from a physical, historical and conceptual study of the building, are as follows:
- Highlight the building´s spatial characteristics and only convert elements of little historical or formal value.
- Remedy the dampness from the inside by applying several layers of permeable lime mortar.
- Use a single element to convert the church to its new function: a platform of wooden boards mounted on the original flooring. This platform creates a ventilated chamber to house the installations and curves around the columns which create mobile elements that can be arranged in different ways.
